In November 2005, in accordance with § 7 of the Energy Economy law (EnWG), Gas Union GmbH founded the entirely owned subsidiaries Gas-Union Transport Verwaltungs GmbH and Gas-Union Transport GmbH & Co. KG.
On January 2006 Gas-Union Transport GmbH & Co. KG (Gas-Union Transport) began operational business after registration in the Register of Companies. It operates a regional natural gas transmission system in Hesse and the bordering Federal States. The transmission network operates at a pressure of up to 62 bar, the nominal pipe sizes of the backbone network system measure between DN 300 and DN 500.
Gas-Union Transport joined the cooperation agreement between gas supply operators in Germany in accordance with Section 20, paragraph 1b) EnWG. Further information relating to network access or the cooperation agreement is available at www.bdew.de or www.vku.de.
